The Ramsey Lewis Trio: Upendo Ni Pamoja. Certainly a wise purchase for any funk fan. Without a doubt a 'I cannot believe you don't have this album' if you're a Ramsey Lewis fan. One unique and wonderful feature of Upendo is the use of the upright bass throughout. Most if not all of the funk I've heard uses electric basses, and after hearing this it's a shame it doesn't happen more often.
